PADI Open Water Diver Course (OWD)
Earn your internationally recognized diving certification
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular beginner scuba diving course. It is designed for people who have never dived before or have only completed an introductory dive and would like to become certified divers. After successfully completing the course, you will receive the internationally recognized PADI Open Water Diver certification, allowing you to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 metres anywhere in the world. No previous diving experience or personal diving equipment is required. All you need is good general health, basic swimming ability and the desire to discover the amazing underwater world.

How does the course work?
The course lasts 3 days and consists of three main parts.
1. Theory: Your training begins with the official PADI eLearning program. Access to the eLearning materials is provided upon arrival in Hurghada, allowing you to study at your own pace before or during the course. You will learn the basic principles of scuba diving, how diving equipment works, underwater communication, dive planning and essential safety procedures.
2. Practical Skills: The second part of the course focuses on practical exercises in calm, shallow water.Under the direct supervision of your PADI Instructor, you will learn how to assemble and use scuba equipment, control your buoyancy and master the essential diving skills every diver needs. Each exercise is explained step by step so that you can build confidence and feel comfortable underwater.
3. Open Water Dives: The final part of the course takes place in the beautiful waters of the Red Sea. During several open water dives on Hurghada's spectacular coral reefs, you will apply everything you have learned throughout the course while enjoying one of the world's most beautiful diving environments. Your PADI instructor will accompany you during every dive, helping you improve your skills and gain confidence underwater.
Minimum age for participating in the course is 10 years.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course (AOWD)

How does the course work?
The course lasts 2 days and includes five Adventure Dives.
Two dives are mandatory:
- Deep Dive
- Underwater Navigation Dive
The remaining three Adventure Dives are selected according to sea conditions and your interests. They may include:
- Drift Diving
- Wreck Diving
- Underwater Photography
- Boat Diving
- Peak Performance Buoyancy
- Search and Recovery
Each Adventure Dive introduces you to new techniques and helps you gain valuable experience in different diving environments.

1. Theory: Training begins with the official PADI eLearning materials, which are provided upon arrival in Hurghada. You will learn how to recognize potential diving hazards, prevent accidents, manage stress and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
2. Practical Rescue Skills: During the practical sessions, you will learn essential rescue techniques, including:
- assisting a diver underwater and at the surface;
- recognizing and managing emergency situations;
- dealing with diver stress and panic;
- organizing and performing effective rescue procedures.
All exercises are completed under the supervision of an experienced PADI Instructor in a safe and controlled environment.
3. Rescue Scenarios: The final part of the course consists of realistic rescue scenarios that combine everything you have learned. Working together with your instructor, you will practise solving diving emergencies step by step while building confidence, improving decision-making and learning how to stay calm under pressure.
Course requirements
To enrol in the PADI Rescue Diver course you must have:
- a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or an equivalent qualification);
- at least 20 logged dives;
- a valid first aid qualification such as PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) or an equivalent course completed within the previous 24 months.
